Rebecca Jones' Father was stationed in places during WWII where the soldiers were instructed NOT to keep any records of any kind (for safety and security purposes). Her Father decided to keep a diary anyway. His short entries make the book an easy read and gives great insight on what life was like for soldiers stationed in this war zone that so little is known about. His journal entries often give a personal, intimate look at what life was like for soldiers who fought in WWII. This book is easy to read. It is a great book for a wide range of audiences, whether you are just looking for a good book or you are an avid historian interested in WWII.
